MINOR FIRES

Three calls to minor fires were answered by units of the Christchurch Fire Brigade during the week-end. A central unit was called at 12.18 p.m. on Saturday to a fire in a singlestorey wooden dwelling at 38 Vogel street, occupied by James McGlinn. Slight damage was done to the building. A grass fire on the bank of the Heathcote river, on Ferry road near Charlesworth street, on Saturday evening, was attended to bv the Woolston and central units, which were called at 6,11 p.m. The central brigade was called to a chimney fire at 33 Saxton street at 10.17 o’clock yesterday morning.
