CHARGE FOR HAIRCUTS

Sir.—l think it is quite time the price controller looked more carefully into this new charge of 2s for a haircut, which covers all heads alike. For men like Mr Nordmeyer, or myself and many others, two minutes in a barber’s chair (and it doesn’t take longer) works out at Is a minute, which is a most exorbitant charge for bald and semi-bald men to have to pay. Is it right or fair for those less fortunate in hiruste adornment, to be stung? I consider a scale of charges to suit the conditions would be more equitable; and I’ll bet many more think as I do, except the barbers, of course.—Yours, etc.. BEING STUNG. October 14, 1949.
