SERVICE AT TEPID BATHS The galleries at the Christchurch Tepid Baths 'were filled yesterday afternoon when several hundred persons attended a public baotisrn service conducted by Mr George Burnside, c Seventh Day Adventist Evangelist Thirty-three men and women were baptised after Mr Burnside had delivered an address on “What the Bible Teacheg about Christ and Baptism.’ The women candidates for baptisrr wore long white gowns and waterproof caps. The rr.cn wore white shirts and grey trousers. It was the third public bapUsm conducted by Mr Burnside in Christchurch during the last four months. A the previous ceremonies he administ cred the rite to 62 men and” women Mr Burnside said that he had held the baptismal services in public Places be cause none of the four Seventh Da> Adventist Churches in Christchurcl was big enough to accommodate those who wished to attend.
