The annual tennis match for the Douglas Challenge Cup was played at Rangi-ruru on Saturday and was won by Miss Faith Fryer. The cup was given some years ago by Mrs Sholto Douglas for competition among members of Rangi-ruru Old Girls' Association. Twenty-Six players took part in the competition on Saturday and the president of the association (Mrs W. Thacker) presented the cup to Miss Fryer. Guests of honour who were specially welcomed by Mrs Thacker were Miss R. Mason (headmistress of Rangi-ruru; and representatives of old girls’ associations of Timaru, West Christchurch. Otago, and Southland High Schools. Columba. Nelson and St. Hilda’s Colleges. Woodford House. Selwyn House hnd Nga Tawa.
