20TH CENTURY GROUP BALL

Streamers, balloons, pennants, and flags decorated the Wqldorf ballroom where the Overseas League 20th Century Group held its inaugural ball on Saturday evening. The guests were received by the president of the group (Mr Brian Gibbons). Specially invited guests for the evening were the general secretary of the Overseas League in New Zealand (Mr J. K. Milner), me Christchurch president (Mr A. I. Cottrell) and Mrs Cottrell, the president

of the junior branch of the Navy League (Mis Natalie Vale), and the branch secretary (Miss O. J. Gibson). The enterprising ball committee responsible foi the success of the gathering were Misses N. Russell. D. Parkin, A. Yates, B. Beadel. G. Maturin, Messrs J. Hobbs. R. Bloxham, and R. Wilson.
