ATHLETICS OFFICIALS APPOINTED

The chairman of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association (Mr H. L. Austad) to-day announced the names of 58 officials who will conduct the track and field events at the Empire Games at Eden Park from February 2 to February 11. “We have made every effort to keep the number of officials down to an absolute minimum consistent with the smooth running of the Empire competition, and at the same time we have done our best to select the men best equipped for the task,” said Mr Austad. The officials named are:
