“ FASHIONS AND FABRICS ”

THE ALL-BRITISH MANNEQUIN PARADE. PLANS FILLING AT BEATHS. Christchurch women are keenly interested in the Parade of England’s Own Fashions at Beaths next week, commencing on Monday Afternoon and continuing until Friday, October 21. at 3 o’clock each day. It's unusual. First of all, the makers of the Silks involved are the West Cumberland Silk Mills, with mills at Whitehaven. England, and headquarters in London. The designer of the fabrics is Mr Nicholas Sekers. the firm's managing director. The Frocks themselves reflect the genius of members of the Incorporated Society of London Fashion Designers. The Frocks were made in England especiallv for display in New Zealand, and for Beaths’ Display Next Week in particular. So. you see. these are the actual Frocks from the actual materials which made West Cumberland Silk Mills the outstanding exhibitor in a recent exhibition in London—not copies, not adaptations, but the actual Frocks for Dav and Evening, the product of British skill and British originality. The materials themselves are entirely new and beautiful. The designers include Almia. Fredei ick Starke. Sefton. Susan Small. Eric Panetn. Meredith. Marcus. Mercia. Arthur Banks. Beaths “Fabrics and Fashions” Mannequin Parade is so original, and will be so delightful that it will form the principal topic of conversation for weeks, and we invite early application for seats, which may be reserved at Beaths inquiry desk, on the main floor. Tickets 3/6, including afternoon tea. These lovely West Cumberland Silks will be on View and on Sale in Eeaths Dress Goods Section. Ladies may have their Frocks Modelled and Made bv Beaths Model Dressmaking Section in the actual styles paraded. Or. using a McCall Pattern, purchased at Beaths, thev may avail themselves of the Free* Cutting-out Servian provided by Mrs McLean at the McCall Section. Mrs is a cutter and dressmaker of real skill. Advt.
