OFFICERS ELECTED AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE From Out Own Reporter TIMARU, October 10. Mr F. Sheed (Timaru) was elected! president of the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance at the seventeenth annual conference of the alliance at Timaru to-day. Mr Sheed is president of the South Canterbury branch of the alliance. The following were elected to the council of the alliance:—Messrs R. R Curtis (Stratford). J. G. Somerville (Balclutha), J. A. Anderson (Mercer). P. D. Chapman (Martinborough). F. J. Townsend (Gore), P. J. Smith (Wanganui). W. D. Thompson (Taupiri), A. A. Heenan (Woodlands. Southland). N. B Smith (Gisborne). W. A. Habgood (North Canterbury). L. J. Butler (Tirau). J B Cullen (Ashburton). J W. Greenhill (Greymouth). L. Sirl (Whangarei). V. E. Le Prou (Taumarunui), and C. Cassidy (Waipukurau). ex officio as immediate pastpresident. ~ , It was resolved to hold the 1950 conference at Wanganui.
