ST. HILDA’S SCHOOL
NEW HEADMISTRESS The board of governors of St. Hilda’s Collegiate School, Dunedin, has appointed Miss Freda Slote, of England, as the new principal of the college. She will start her duties when the school opens for the first term in 1950. Miss Slote is a Bachelor of Arts (hons.) of London University and holds the teacher’s post-graduation diploma from the same institution. She is 33 years of age. She will succeed Miss M. Dalziel, whose resignation will take effect at the end of the year. Miss Slote has had a varied teaching career, including experience in France and Germany. Her present post is at the St. Michael’s School for Girls in Limpsfield, Surrey, but she has taught at several other British schools. During her teaching career. Miss Slote has taken a keen interest in educational organisations and has represented the New Education Fellowship at an international conference at Paris.
