CRICKET GROUNDS

ALLOCATION BY CITY COUNCIL Sixty-four cricket grounds have been allocated by the reserves committee of the City Council for the 1949-50 season. Seven are at Sydenham Park, six at Barrington Park, and five at Elmwood Park. The reserves department has been asked to maintain 39 wickets, the clubs maintaining the remainder. Applications totalled 76 wickets and some clubs were persuaded to share grounds.

Permission to play cricket on Sundays has been applied for by 20 applicants. Wickets have been allocated as follows to clubs whose members are unable to take part in Saturday competitions:—Spreydon Domain 2; Hillsborough Domain, 2; English. Burwood, and Redcliffs Parks, each one. Two wickets at English and Burwood Parks, will be shared by 13 Sunday-play clubs.
