BADMINTON
CANTERBURY TITLES DECIDED There was a very high standard of play in several of the championship events in the semi-finals and finals of the Canterbury championships and handicap events, held by the Canterbury Badminton Association in the King Edward Barracks. Some exciting matches were seen. R. G. Pattinson played well to win his games and his opposition put up a hard fight to cope with his deceptive shots. The president (Mr V. Stokes) presented the trophies to the winners. He said a high standard of play had been reached during the tournament. The association was gratified at the number of entries received, although he would like to have seen more of the younger clubs entering into the competitions to gain experience. Next year will be a busy season for Ihe Canterbury Badminton Association, as the New Zealand championships will be held in Christchurch.
