MR FRASER PROMISES STATEMENT (Neu; Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON. September 6. Moving that as from September 14 Government business should take precedence over private business, the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) said in the House of Representatives to-day that he hoped soon to be able to give the House an idea of the business before it The Leader of the Opposition (Mr S. G. Holland): Can you tell us when we will take the Legislative Council Abolition Bill? Mr Fraser: We will give that question due consideration. Mr F. W. Doidge (Opposition. Sauranga): What about a date for the election?
The Primo Minister only smiled The question of the House’s programme was mentioned by Mr Holland again before the House adjourned this evening. Mr Fraser replied that he hoped he would be able tomorrow to give an indication of the business that would occupy the re3/ainder of the session.
