CHRISTCHURCH SKI CLUB

CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS The championships of the Christchurch Ski Club were decided at Temple Basin, Arthur’s Pass, last week-end over two giant slalom courses involving a drop of about 500 feet. Ski-ing conditions were quite good and the weather was favourable. Results were:—

Men’s Junior Championship.—P. Adams ‘smin 27 2-ssec) 1. T. Louisson (Bmin 13 3-ssec) 2, D. Booth (lOmin 21sec) 3.

Women’s Junior Championship.—J. Paton (6min 0 3-ssec) 1, A. Thomas (7min 41 l-ssec) 2. J Adams (Bmin 42 3-ssec) 3. Winter Sports Club The maiden slalom championship held by th: Canterbury Winter Sports Club resulted:—

W. Brook (48sec) 1, W Meechen (50sec) and T. Lawrence (50sec) (equal) 2. L. P. Meechen (58sec) 4 There had been a deep fall of fresh snow and conditions were tricky.
