20 ARRESTED IN BUDAPEST
FORMER MINISTER INCLUDED CHARGE OF ESPIONAGE ißec. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON. June 18. Reuter's Budapest correspondent says that the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior announced to-night that Mr Laszlo Rajk and Dr. Tibor Szonyi had been arrested oq charges of espionage for a foreign Power. Mr Rajk. a former Foreign Minister, and Dr. Szonyi. a member of the central committee and cadre secretary of the Workers’ Party, were expelled from the Hungarian Communist party a few days ago. The expulsion order described them as “spies ana Trotskyite agents of foreign imperialist Powers.’’ The Ministry said that 18 accomplices had also been arrested.
