ATOMIC BOMB SECRETS

Britain Dissatisfied WithJU.S. INFORMATION NOT SUPPLIED • (Rec. 10.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 18 Britain has opened a drive to obtain the United States latest atomic bomb secrets, says the Washington correspondent of the “Daily News," New York. Britain is bitterly dissatisfied over her failure to receive new atomic secrets. the newspaper says. She is convinced that she is getting an extremely raw deal, and that the United States is violating both the letter and spirit of its agreement with Britain in not making the latest secrets known. The newspaper says it is reported on unimpeachable authority that the matter was discussed thoroughly in recent defence conversations between Mr Attlee and Mr Winston Churchill. It is known that during his visit to the United States three months ago Mr Churchill was highly critical or the breakdown in the exchange of information about developments of the atomic bomb. The British Government, with the backing of Mr Churchill and the Opposition, has taken the view that British scientists were of extreme help in developing Jhe first atomic bomb, and that the weapon would prob;.-bly have been delayed for a long time without them.
