ABDICATION AFTER PEACE TREATY REPORT BY BOSTON NEWSPAPER (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Bee. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, June iB. Emperor Hirohito will abdicate as soon as the Japanese peace treaty is signed, says the Tokyo correspondent of the “Post ” Boston, who adds that his information came from “one of the leading officials of the Japanese Industrial Bank, which represents the Japanese Government. Japanese leaders expect the peace treaty to be signed by October er November, and the bank official said that the Emperor would resign wnen the treaty was signed, but would continue as the head of religious elements who believed in Buddhism and Lluntoism.

COMMENT ON ARRIVAL OF H.M.S. VANGUARD
The Port Said correspondent of the’ Daily Mail says that Egyptian newspapers are asking whether it is a coincidence that Britain’s 42.000-ton battleship Vanguard has arrived the dav after the British Ambassador (Sir Ronald Campbell) had discussed with the Egyptian Prime Minister (Abdul Hadi Pasha) the searching by Egyptian authorities of British ships in the Suez Canal. Reliable Cairo sources expect that Hadi Pasha will order in a few days that the searching of ships be stopped. Five hundred ships of different flags have been searched in the Suez Canal since February 14.
WORLD WHEAT PACT (Rec. 7 p.m.) WASHINGTON. June 17. President Truman to-day signed the United States instrument of ratification of the internationals wheat agreement. Belgium and Canada so far arc the only countries to have deposited instruments of ratification with the State Department.
