ARMY CHIEF RETURNS

SHORT VISIT TO BRITAIN (New Zealand Pres.-, Association.) AUCKLAND, June 19. The Chief of the General Staff (Major-General K. L. Stewart) has arrived at Auckland by air from San Francisco, after a visit to Britain. He was accompanied by the Director of Artillery at Army Headquarters (Lieutenant-Colonel H. E. Gilbert). They left N ew Zealand /less than three weeks ago. Major-General Stewart said on his arrival* that he could not discuss the purpose of his visit to Britain.
