TOURIST TROPHY RACE ON ISLE OF MAN (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) m • x LONDON, June 17. The senior Tourist Trophy race for machines up to 500 c.c., over a total distance of 264 miles on the Isle of Man to-day was won by Harold Daniell, riding a Norton, in 3hr 2min 0 2-ssec, an average speed of 86.92 miles an hour. J. Lockett (Norton) was second, and a Lyons (Velocette), third. The New Zealand rider, S. H. Jenson, was fifth in 3hr lOmin 33sec, an average speed of 83.17 miles an hour. Daniell won the race in 1938 and again in 1947. The light-weight race for machines up to 250 c.c. was won by M. Barrington, riding a Moto Guzzi, his time being 3hr 23min 14 l-ssec, an average speed of 77.98 miles an hour. T. L. Wood (Moto Guzzi) was second, and R. Pike (Rudge) third.
