ANNIVERSARY OF PRAYER BOOK
Anglican churches in Christchurch yesterday held special services of thanksgiving on the occasion of the four hundredth anniversary of the authorisation of the English prayer boo? At the Cathedral particular reference was made to the work of Archbishop Cranmer in the production of several versions of the prayer book. The preacher in the morning was the Rev. W. A. Orange and in the evening Dean A. K. Warren. At St. Michael’s. Oxford terrace, the Rev. C. E. B. Muschamp said the influence of the prayer books on the life of the nation was second only to that of the Bible.
