NATIONALIST MINISTER’S STATEMENT (Rec. 7 p.m.) CANTON. June 16. A counter-revolution by the Chinese people against the Communists in their newly acquired territories was inevitable in the near future- said General Wu Tieh-chen. Nationalist Minister without portfolio, in Canton to-day. General Wu said that the people were becoming disillusioned and he quoted reports of discontent in the provinces of Honan, Hupeh, and Anhwei, as well as in the TientsinPeiping area of North China. He added that the Nationalists had made many mistakes in the past, but the biggest was compromising with the Communists.
