QUEST FOR “MISS NEW ZEALAND”
CONTEST WON BY NEW PLYMOUTH GIRL
(New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 17. Twenty-yeiir-old Mary Daphne Woodward, of New Plymouth, this evening won the “Miss New Zealand” quest from 12 other finalists. Her win >s a happy pre-birthday gift, for Miss Woodward will be 21 on July 3. She is a daughter of a New Plymouth Magistrate (Mr W. H. Woodward) and Mrs Woodward. Her parents were present in the Town Hall when their daughter was announced as “Miss Zealand” at a well-attended ceremony.
