PENSIONS FOR SINGLE WOMEN
Sir. —Like “Single.” who wrote two weeks ago, I think something should be done for single women. Widows without children receive pensions, out single women who have given up marriage, and very often sacrificed their health and the best years of their lives to care for aged parents, cannot claim a pension until the age of 60. I hope the women’s organisations of this town will try to take up this cause for these people.—Yours, etc., SINGLE TOO. June 16. 1949.
