YOUNG CHRISTCHURCH ACTOR
WEDDING* IN MELBOURNE Senior-Sergeant J. J. Kearns and Mrs Kearns, of Harewood road, Papanui, left Christchurch last evening on their way to Melbourne to attend the marriage of their son, Mr Bernard Kearns, to Miss Patience Maclean, of Lower Hutt, which will take place next month. Mr Bernard Kearns was a member of the Canterbuty Student Players who toured Australia early this year under the direction of Miss Ngaio Marsh. He took leading parts in Canterbury University College Dramatic Society and Canterbury Repertory Society productions. He stayed in Australia at the end of the Student Players’ tour and joined a radio play production company in Melbourne, where recently he had a leading part in a New Testament play. Miss Maclean was also a member of the Student Players and was associated with the Canterbury University College Dramatic Society.
