Captain A. E. Lawrence and Captain J. A. McPherson, of Southern Military District headquartets staff, will leave this evening to attend a two months’ junior Staff officers’ course at the Army School, Treritham. The president of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association (Mr H. E. Batchelor) was appointed an additional representative of the association on the welfare committee of the Canterbury Provincial Patriotic Committee by the executive of the association last evening. Three producers’ representatives on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board who are due to retire item the board in August will seek re-election. T1 l e ? are Messrs G - H - Grigg (Hero-F-C. Johnstone (Waitetuna), and W. W. Mulholland (Darfield). Mr B. K. Knowles, of Wellington, has been awarded the seventh travelling scholarship of the incorporated institute of Accountants of New Zealand. The scholarship, £2OO a year for ’two years, enables the successful applicant to go to London and get exPer ience m leading accountants’ offices.
