TAI TAPU CLUB A match between the Tai Tapu and Ellesmere clubs for the Harley Challenge Cup was won by the Tai Tapu Club by 7 games to 4. The following are the results. with the Tai Tapu names mentioned first:— Foursomes.—W. G. Macartney and C. Anderson beat J, Watson and W. Sutherland; N. J. McKenzie and J. O’Donnell beat A. Oakley and G. Smith; G. Stoddart and G. Tull beat A. Kennish and J. Sewell; G. Sheldon and E. J. Thompson lost to W. Lewitt. and H. Stephens. Singles.—Macartney beat Watson; Anderson lost to Sutherland; McKenzie beat Oakley; O’Donnell lost to Smith: Stoddart beat Kennish; Tull lost to Sewell; Sheldon beat Lewitt; Thompson and Stephens all square. The second round of the president’s trophy four-ball was played by members of the club on Saturday. The following are the results:—J. Newell and W. Robinson beat J. Houlton and E. McNeill; G. Nutt and G. .Sheldon beat C. Anderson and J. Wright. The following are the results of the Otahuna Cup play-off:—N. J. McKenzie beat J. O’Donnell, 1 up. The following are the results of the second round of the Suckling Cup mixed foursome:—N. J. McKenzie and Mrs R. J. Templeton beat G. Nutt and Mrs J. McKenzie, 2 up; J. Ryan and Mrs Ryan beat N. Garrard and Mrs Garrard, 3 up. TAI TAPU LADIES’ CLUB The following players qualified for the Smith rose bowl:—Mrs Stoddart 157, Mrs Blackmore 157, Mrs McCartney . 166, Miss S. Smith 169, Mrs Templeton 172, Mrs Garrard 176, Mrs J. H. McKenzie 176, Mrs N. J. McKenzie 207. A stroke round was held in conjunction with this event, and resulted as follows:—Mrs T. RANGIORA LADIES’ GOLF CLUB The best scores in the second qualifying round of the Macdonald Cup played recently by the members of the Rangiora Ladies 1 Golf Club were as follows: Mrs E. Ryde, 89, 13—76; Mrs F. Tolmie. 95. 19—76; Mrs L. P. Devlin, 95, 19—76; Mrs L. Walker, 99, 22—77; Miss K. Johnstone, 88, 9—79.
