MAGISTRATE’S COURT
—♦ FRIDAY (Before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS Richard Coughlan, a<ed 59, pleaded guilty to a charge of being found drunk in a public place. Sub-Inspector G. H. L. Holt said that Coughlan was making his seventieth appearance before the Court and his second appearance this week. Coughlan was remanded to Monday for medical examination, BREACH OF PROHIBITION ORDER Richard Norman French, aged 46. who had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of procuring liquor during ’he currency of a prohibition order, was ordered to be detained in an inebriates’ institution for a period of 12 months. TRAFFIC BREACHES The following cases were brought by the police for breaches of the traffic regulations Riding unlighted cycle at night: John Alexanda Bowry, fined 10s; Terence Patrick McKeown, 20s. Attempting to cross railway when line not clear: James Curragh, fined £2. Failing to give way: Helena Jane Henderson, fined £2. Unregistered motor-cycle; John Spencer Lewin, fined £2. A charge against Francis McCarthy of driving a taxi without due care and attention was dismissed.
