Sir,—Picturesque Scargill is mostly nestled in a narrow valley. After • recent householders’ meeting called by the Scargill School Committee for support in purchasing a modern talkie him projector for the Scargill schoolchildren. the proposal was rejected, Which goes to show only that some *®sidehts’ minds are like this valley. Progressive school! What a misnomer. The schoolteacher gave a most forceful and lucid address in support 01 the proposal to purchase this ’nachine. pointing out how very necessary and what an asset in time-saving 10r teaching a projector is for modern progressive teaching. However, householders are apparently content to drift along in the ame rut as their forefathers and. by own voiced complacency and S*.V? ness « Penalise their very own (a , e . n by ousting a sound scheme J- which, I know, the local school ’mmittee had given much time and for many months past.
