Australia has offered to integrate her defences completely With those of the United States, according to the Minister of Defence (Mr J. J. Denman). He did not reveal whether the United States had accepted the offer. Mr Dedman’s statement is regarded as significant because of the recent visit to America of Sir Frederick Shedden. Secretary of the Defence Department, who is considered Australia’s head man on defence organisation and international collabbfaMr Dedman added that if Australian plans could be fitted in with those ’of America in such a way that both countries could benefit there was not likely to be any opposition by either Government.
