WORLD CONGRESS FOR PEACE
BRITISH DELEGATES GO TO PARIS (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, April 19. More than 200 members of the British delegation to the Communistspensored World Congress for Peace left London to-day for Paris, where the congress will open to-morrow. The party included representatives of unions, women’s organisations, and the British Soviet Society. Another 200 delegates and 100 other individuals from Britain will join the first British delegates before the congress begins.
An overflow peace congress for delegates unable to go to Paris will begin in Prague to-morrow. The Czechoslovak radio said to-night that the Paris sponsors of the congress had called on the Czechoslovak Government to permit the entry of delegates unable to reach Paris and enable them to hold a second congress. The Government had agreed. Win for Australian Boxer.—The Australian boxer, Dave Sands, beat the Frenchman, Lucien Caboche, on points, over 10 rounds at the Albert Hall to-night. Sands weighed list 61b and Caboche list. It was Sands’s second fight in England. In the first contest he was outpointed by the American, Tommy xarosz.—London. April 10.
