FOOD PRODUCTION IN RUSSIA
50 PERCENT. INCREASE BY 1951 SOUGHT MOSCOW, April 19. The Russian Government and the Communist Party issued a joint decree to-day setting out the first steps in a new three-vear plan for a vast increase in livestock and the production of food and raw materials. Training for those working in cattle breeding will -be improved, and more schools and institutes will. be set up for specialists. The new plan sets for 1951 a 50 per cent, increase in meat, fats, milk, butter, eggs, leather, wool, and other products on collective farms.
