MULVEY WINS DRAUGHTS CHAMPIONSHIP

(New Zealand Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, April 20. The New Zealand draughts championship was won by J. Mulvey (Nelson) with 25 points. D. Calderwood (Hamilton) had 24 points, and W. Davis (Whangarei) 22|. A, sealed handicap was won by B. Whitehead (Palmerston North) with 23 points, D. Graham (Dannevirke) scoring 21£ points.

Telegrams to Greece.—Private telegrams may now be sent z to Greece, according to advice received by the Chief Postmaster at Christchurch (Mr D. R. Thomson). The transmission of private telegrams to Greece was suspended during a strike by Greek post and telegraph staff.
