His Lordship Bishop Lyons left for Dunedin yesterday to officiate al the half-yearly ordination ceremonies of Holy Cross College. Mosgiel. The Bishop will return to Christchurch this evening. Captain H. Lovegrove, R.N., who has been appointed Second Naval Member of the New Zealand Naval Board in succession to Captqin J. G. Hewitt, D. 5.0., R.N., who is returning to England, will sail for New Zealand on the Dominion Monarch on May 6. —Special correspondent, N.Z.P.A., London, April 1. Dr. Ernest Marsden, the New Zealand scientific liaison officer in London, has been appointed a, member of the board of governors of the Imperial College of Science. Dr. Marsden will replace Mr B. E. Todhunter, aged 84. a director of Imperial Chemical Industries, who has represented New Zealand on the board since 1928. —Special correspondent N.Z.P.A., London, April 1. Major A. J. Moore. M.8.E., who was Deputy-Assistant QuartermasterGeneral at Southern Military District Headquarters, retired from the Army on Thursday. He joined the New Zelaand Regular Forces in 1920 and was commissioned in 1925. He has commanded each military area in th* 3 South Island. In 1941 he was staff officer on force headquarters in Fiji and later he commanded the 29th Battalion in Fiji and New Caledonia. Cr. W. P. Glue, the representative of the Christchurch City Council on the executive of the New Zealand Electric Power Boards and Supply Association’s executive, has been appointed a member of the Rural Electricity Reticulation Council. Mr H V. Murray is the other South Island representative. Mr R. Masters has been re-appointed a North Island representative.
