SWIMMING

SALVATION ARMY CARNIVAL The Red Shield Group of the Salvation Army held its dnnual swimming carnival at the Municipal Baths last evening. Members of the Spreydon Amateur Swimming Club acted as officials. Competitors were drawn from the Canterbury-West-land Division. The Ashburton group won the Challenge Cup, Linwood was second, and Christchurch City third. Results of the main events were as follows : 33 1-3 Yards Freestyle.—Junior: R. Smart 1, G. Daniels 2.
