CONVERTED AIR FORCE FLYING-BOAT MAKES TEST FLIGHT.—The National Airways Corporation’s Sunderland flying-boat Takitumu, taking off from Auckland harbour on its first test flight since its conversion to a passenger-carrying plane. It formerly belonged to the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and its conversion was the biggest work of its kind ever attempted in New Zealand. Equipped to carry 26 passengers and a crew of nine, the Takitumu will make its first trip in the Auckland-Suva- service to-morrow.
