POST-PRIMARY SCHOOLS
FIRST MEETINGS OF NEW BOARDS The first meetings of the new postprimary school boards of managers in Christchurch have been fixed as follows: —April 7, Avonside Girls’ High School, 7 p.m.; Christchurch Girls’ High School, 8 p.m.. April 8, Christchurch West High School. 7 p.m.; Boys' High School, 8 p.m. April 11. Papanui Technical College, 7 p.m.; Christchurch Technical College, 8 p.m. In each case the first meeting will be held in the Canterbury Education Board room. The central board of governors will hold its first meeting on April 13. after representatives have been appointed by boards of managers. It is expected that an officer of the Education Department will address all meetings, and that chairmen will then be appointed. Employers’ organisations have appointed Messrs A. E. G. Lyttle, J. Calder, and F. C. Penfold to the Christchurch Technical College Board, and Messrs J. B. Johns and T. H. Lawn to the Papanui Technical College Board. The City Council and Waimairi County Council have appointed Mr J. N. Clarke to the Papanui board.
