NEW YORK STOCK MARKET
BIGGER DEMAND AND HIGHER PRICES (Rec. 7 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 29. The demand for stocks suddenly boomed on the New York Stock Exchange to-day as a result of the news that securities could be bought on more lenient credit terms. Final prices on the Stock Exchange showed increases of from one dollar to about four dollars a share. Also as a result of the reductions in investment margin requirements, price cutting of consumer goads spread to-day. Cuts of up to 333 dollars by a motor-car firm. 20 to 25 per cent, on radios, a reduction of 150 cents in prices of motor-car batteries, and a reduction in the price of ice-cream by two New York companies, were announced.
