RENTALS OF STATE HOUSES
- COMMENT BY MR NASH - (From Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON. March 30. “The adjustment of State house rentals seems to be a thought in the mind of Mr Algie. Without being a prophet, I doubt very much that Mr Algie will have the opportunity to give effect to this thought.” said the I Minister of Finance (Mr Nash) to-day. ! when he commented on a statement ! made in Auckland recently by Mr R. ' M. Algie, M.P.. for .Remuera, that “it looks as though the Cabinet contem- . olates the making of adjustments to State house rentals in pursuance of the power which the Tenancy Act undoubtedly confers upon the Govern- ! ment.” The Government, said Mr Nash, had not contemplated such ad- ’ i justments.
