Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: an anti-cyclone is moving eastwards off New Zealand A lew pressure trough in the Tasman Sea is approaching the South Island. Forecast: moderate to fresh winds, northeasterlies near the coast, north-wester-lies inland. Weather fair to fine and mile. Further outlook: some rain likely. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate to fresh northerly wifids. Weather cloudy to overcast. Rain developing. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and sunny, with a cool easterly ■wind. The maximum temperature was 61.4 degrees. The sky was clear at midnight, and the temperature was 53.7 degrees. There was an easterly breere. and the barometer, at 29.953 inches (1014.3 millibars), was falling steadily.
