WOMAN A.D.C. TO THE KING
DIRECTOR OF W.R.N.S. APPOINTED
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, March 30. The Admiralty announced to-day that Miss Jocelyn May Woollcombe, director of the Women’s Royal Naval Service, had been appointed an honorary aide-de-camp to the King. Miss Woollcombe, who is 50, is the first woman to receive this appointment. The Admiralty also announced that Miss Olga Heather Franklyn, matron-in-chief of Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service, had been appointed honorary nursing sister to the King.
