The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Cffice, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: an anti-cyclone is moving from the Tasman across New Zealand. Forecast: moderate north-easterly winds near the coast, variable winds elsewhere. Weather fair to fine with moderate temperatures. Further outlook: fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Variable winds. Weather fair to cloudy. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of .4 degrees yesterday, the weather in Christchurch was fine arid sunny, but there was a cold easterly wind. The maximum temperature was 60.2 degrees. The sky was almost clear at midnight and there was a light easterly breeze. The temperature was 48.5 degrees. The barometer at 30.177 inches (1021.9 millibars was falling steadily.
