ELDERLY MAN DIES FROM INJURIES

One of those injured in a car accident at the corner of the WeedonsLincoln road and Waterhole road, near Springston. on Friday evening, William McLaren, a marrifed man, died in the Christchurch Public Hospital early on Saturday morning. Mr McLaren, who was a farmer, of Springston. was driving one of the cars, in which his wife was a passenger. Helen Borrie, the infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Borrie of Aranui, was stated last night to be seriously ill but improving. Her brother, Adrian Ronald Borrie, aged three years, was in a satisfactory condition. An inquest into Mr McLaren’s death will be opened before the Coroner (Mr Rex C. Abernethy) to-day.
