MR GEORGE GIBSON RESIGNS POST
RESULT OF REPORT BY LYNSKEY TRIBUNAL

Mr George Gibson, who recently resigned his directorship of the Bank of England, has resigned his post of chairman of the North-Western Electricity Board, which carries a salary of £4OOO a year. Mr Gibson sent the following letter to the Minister of Fuel and Power (Mr Hugh Gaitskell): “I have considered the report of the Lynskey Tribunal, and in view of the strictures on myself I feel that although I do not accept the decision as just, I must place my resignation in your hands.”
