ADVENTIST CAMP MEETING
FINAL ADDRESS BY PASTOR WHITE “The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who cannot be bought or sold, men who are as true to duty as the needle to the Pole,” said Pastor E. E. White, of London, in his final address in the young people’s marquee at the Seventh Day Adventist camp meeting held at the Addington Showgrounds. Challenging the large audience of young people to build characters that would measure up to the strenuous demands of the times, Pastor White said that young people were needed “who would see their duty clearly and act upon it—irrespective of what may come to them.” Nearly 1000 Adventists attended the closing meetings of the camp, which ■were addressed by the visiting ministers. At a missionary rally held on Saturday afternoon the congregation gave an offering of £lOlO 7s ltd for medical missionary work. This is the largest offering ever given during an Adventist meeting in the South Island. Thanking the camp superintendent (Pastor A. C. Ball, of Greymouth) for his work in connexion with the erection of the camp. Pastor A. R. Mitchell, the re-elected president of the South Island conference of the church, said that a special word of appreciation should be given to the camp cooks. During the 10-day camp meeting they served more than 70,000 meals. To-morrow delegates from 39 Adventist churches in the North Island will attend the camp meeting annual session of the North conference to be held on the campus of the Adventist New Zealand Missionary College, Longburn, Palmerston North. There will be nearly 2000 people at this 10day convention.
