He drew attention to the report of the Waipiata Sanatorium Committee. which said that the staff shortage at present was the worst it had ever been, and that the number of beds in use would have to be reduced further early next year unless more nurses and domestics were obtained. Tile shortage of domestic help is detrimental to the health of the mothers in the country," said Mr Wilkinson. It was- decided to ask the Department of Immigration to provide suitable immigrants to meet these needs.
