REFUGEES IN PALESTINE

N.Z. GOVERNMENT’S ASSISTANCE GOODS VALUED AT £40,000 From Our Own Reporter WELLINGTON, December 13. The New Zealand Government will contribute goods to the value of about £40,000 for refugees in Palestine. This was announced this evening by the Acting-Prime Minister (Mr Nash). Already, 50 tons of butter and 25 tons of skim milk powder have been given by the Government. To make up the balance of New Zealand’s contribution further foodstuffs will be procured to “help to relieve the distress and hardship of those persons, both Arab and Jew, who. because of the unfortunate condition# in Palestine have been forced from their homes’ and their livelihood.”
