TE WAI POUNAMU COLLEGE

MEETING OF OLD GIRLS’ ASSOCIATION Officers were elected as follows at the annual meeting of the Te Wai Pounamu College Old Girls’ Association: president, Mrs Selwyn Baker; deputy-president, Mrs T. Ryan; vicepresidents, Mrs W. Joughin (former principal) and Mrs J. Daniels (present principal); district vice-presidents, Mrs Hinea Walker (North Island), Mrs Paul Pitama (Canterbury), Miss Magda Wallscott (Otago), and Mrs Knight (Southland). After the formal business, members entertained at a buffet tea* at which representatives of other old girls’ associations were guests. Items were given by Mrs Baker and Mrs Patea. Lady Pomare, who had intended to accompany members of the North Island branch, but was prevented by illhealth, sent a hand-worked taniko evening bag made by herself as a token of her interest in the association.
