COMMANDER OF AREA 10

MAJOR J. A. WORSNOP, M.8.E., APPOINTED Major, Temporary LieutenantColonel J. A. Worsnop. M.8.E., New Zealand Regiment, has been appointed commander of Area 10, Christchurch. The post has been vacant since the resignation several months ago of Lieutenant-Colonel I. L. Bonifant, and has been filled temporarily by Major A. J. Moore, of Southern Military District Headquarters. Major Worsnop has been in the regular forces since 1927, and was commissioned in the staff corps in 1937. He served in the Middle East during the early part of the last war. returning to the staff college at Palmerston North. He returned to the Middle East and was in 1942. He spent the remainder of the war as Staff Officer, Training, at Burnham. In 1946 Major Worsnop was posted to Japan where he commanded a battalion, and latterly was chief administrative officer for J. Force.
