Recovery Against Shaw
NO SURPRISES IN AMATEUR (P.A.) DUNEDIN, November 25. After being four holes down on the morning round, A. J. Murray made a spectacular recovery to win the New Zealand professional golf championship. 1 up, from A. J. Shaw, atJßalmacewen to-day. A gallery of about“ 000 spectators followed the afternoon round. Murray thus won his third title of this tournament. There were no surprises in the third round of the amateur championship, although the young New Plymouth player, B. Bamfield, pressed B. M. Silk hard. Tomorrow Silk will meet R. H. Glading and W. G. Horne will’ meet A. Gibbs (who beat Woon, 3 and 2, to-day). Results to-day were:— PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
