POLICE STILL SEEK ARMED MAN

QUARRY MAY HAVE GONE NORTH

(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH. Oct. 27. The armed man for whom the- New Plymouth police have been combing the district night and day had not been run to earth at a late hour tonight. Two theories concerning his recent movements are held by the police. One is that he returned to New Plymouth on Tuesday night after leading the chase towards Omata, and the other is that he may now be on his way to Auckland. The latter theory was supported by the a car, taken from Westown last night, at Te Kauwhata, 54 miles south of Auckland, to-day.
