CHRISTCHURCH LADIES’ CLUB The. annual handicap foursome stroke competition for the Wigram Cup was plajed at the Shirley course yesterday by members of the Christchurch Ladies’ Golf Club. There was a large entry and playing conditions were excellent. The match, which is played over 36 holes, resulted in a tie between Misses E. White-Parsons and V. Fleming and Mesdames F. E. Twyford and A. L. Tucker. Both pairs will have their names engraved on the cup. A prize, given by Mrs W. Toomey for the best gross score for the two rounds, was won by Misses M. Beadel and E. Nutt. Misses White-Parsons and Fleming, whose gross score was the lowest, not being eligible, as they were joint winners of the Wigram Cup. The best net scores in the Wigram Cup competition were as follows: Misses WhiteParsons and Fleming, 72. 73—145; Mesdames Twyford and Tucker, 65, 80—145; Miss H. Buchanan and Mrs J. B. Hay. 76, 70—146; Misses Beadel and Nutt, 72, 75 147; Mrs Toomey and Miss L. Gates, 75, 72—147; Mesdames T. Archer and A. C. Brassington, 74, 73—147.

TEMPLETON LADIES’ CLUB The closing day of the Templeton Ladies’ Club’s winter season was held on Tuesday. A Stableford bogey, for a trophy given by Miss A. Marshall, was won by Mrs G. Smith with 36 points. The putting prize, given by Mrs B. Wilkin, was won by Mrs G. P. Anderson. The final of the junior championship resulted in a win for Mrs' H. Wilson, who beat Mrs G Smith. 2 up. The final of the Neil Cup was won by Mrs E. G. Mitchell, who beat Mrs G. P. Anderson. 4 and 3. WAITIKIRI LADIES’ CLUB The October L.G.U. match resulted in a win for Mrs I. J. Williamson, who reduced her handicap by 11 strokes. Best cards were:—Mrs Williajnson, 102, 34—68; Mrs A. C. Freeborn. 88. 17—71; Mrs A. R. Blank. 99. 25—74; Mrs D. Pool, 100, 25—75. Mrs Blank and Mrs Freeborn reduced their handicap by one stroke. The final of a knock-out competition on handicap (Mrs A. R. Blank’s trophy) was won by Mrs B. Boyd (36) from Mrs Freeborn (17). 5 and 3.
